Self-realization is the realization of our true nature as Pure Consciousness beyond body and mind, not simply some enhancement of the physical self or the mental self. This is its meaning in Yoga-Vedanta traditions.
It is imperative that we know our true Self that is the same Self in all beings and pervades the entire universe. This is the highest teaching of Yoga and Vedanta, the ultimate state of Non-duality or Advaita.
