Vedic Astrology is the traditional astrology of India aligned with Yoga and the Vedas. It is a precise system of chart interpretation through planets, signs, houses, aspects, divisional charts, planetary periods and more. Our Ayurvedic Astrology Course also teaches the foundations of Vedic Astrology.
It is the healing branch of Vedic Astrology addressing health and wellness issues for body and mind and their treatment through gems, mantras, herbs and other Ayurvedic factors. Ours has been the first course on Ayurvedic Astrology which teaches Vedic Astrology along with its Ayurvedic connections.
Vedic Astrology is Sidereal, based upon the fixed stars. Western Astrology is Tropical, based upon the vernal equinox which changes over time. Vedic astrological positions are about 24 degrees less than Western Astrology today, which can change the signs where planets are located in the chart. Vedic Astrology has additional calculations and considerations of its own.
Vedic like Western Astrology has mathematical factors and benefits by a basic knowledge of astronomy. Vedic Astrology Computer Software makes it easier to learn as you don’t have to do the calculations yourself. Chart interpretation requires synthesizing these astrological factors. Nakshatras are the 27 lunar constellations in the zodiac mainly used to understand the position of the Moon and its effects in the chart. These are important for determining Planetary Periods (Dashas). Our course has extensive information on the Nakshatras from Vedic texts.
Planetary Periods (Dashas) are special to Vedic Astrology. They show the unfoldment of karma at different times of life. Mainly a 120 year cycle is used based upon the Moon Nakshatra position at birth but there are other types as well. Their predictions can be highly accurate.
Gem Therapy or Mani-Chikitsa is one of the main remedial measures in Vedic Astrology for strengthening weak planets in order to improve our health, wellbeing and karma. Each planet has its corresponding gems like pearl and the Moon. Vedic astrologers often recommend planetary gemstones along with the reading. The yearly Hindu calendar based upon your location. Calculates daily astrological influences starting from sunrise, including the phase and Nakshatra of the Moon. Like a cosmic weather report for the day, which may be good or bad for different actions. Includes special sacred days like Shivaratri, the night of Shiva, or Navaratri the Nine Nights of the Goddess Durga. We teach various applications of the Panchanga in the course.
Usually consists of an hour or two examining the main factors of planets, signs and houses and their indications in the chart, including planetary period and transits, relative to the concerns and questions of the client. Additional readings can focus on specific. issues in life career, finances, relationships, health or spiritual practices as per individual concerns.
